I have been a monthly Koodo customer for over 10 years. I am on an older plan and have recently been going over on my data. On Saturday I tried to upgrade to one of the "Heavyweight" plans that offer 2gb, 3gb, or 5gb of data. I was unable to do so. A message said I would be able to do this June 3rd.

Today I tried again to Change My Plan. Although I can select one of the Heavyweight plans, which gets added to my cart, I get a message that says "Buying Online will be available in the near future. In the mean time you can still add items to your card or visit a Koodo store".

Does anyone have any idea what the "near future" is? Hours, days, weeks, or months? I don't live very close to a Koodo store. I am assuming if I phone in I will be charged a service fee even though I am unable to order online.

Also, on Saturday May 30th the prices of the Heavyweight Plans were $55/m for 2GB, $65/m for 3GB, and $88/m for 5GB. I see today the prices now show as $63, $73, and $88 respectively. It seems there a 15% price increase on the first 2 heavyweight plans over the last few days?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer.

Dial 1-866-99-KOODO (1-866-995-6636).

Hours of operation (Eastern Standard Time):

  • Monday − Friday: 9am - 9pm
  • Saturday: 9am - 7pm
  • Sunday: 9am - 7pm
Call customer care, they need to activate something on your account in order for you to have access to these new plans. You can call the number above or do *611 from your koodo phone.

If you want one of the new plans then you'd need to pay off your existing tab, if any, and call customer service to switch to the new plans.

There's no service charge since this isn't something you can do on your own via self serve.

Note: if you're currently getting the 10% BYOD discount, it t is also not compatible with the new plans. And you'll loose it if you switch to a newer plan.

Thanks for the very quick replies.

On my April Koodo statement there was a notice that effective June 3rd Koodo would be dropping my outstanding tab balance to $0 and I could choose from the new line up of plans effective june 3rd. That was great news as I did have about $45 remaining on the tab.

The notice also went on to say as of June 3rd my monthly rate plan will change to new Tab rules that don't allow for a positive Tab balance.

Anyway, I guess as mentioned by Mathieu and Chad, I need to phone in to Koodo to get a plan upgrade.

Thanks
Wayne

Are you trying to change your plan in self serve or are you going to the regular plans page and choosing the plan by adding to cart?
