Unable to receive Apple authentication SMS

I ported my number from Rogers wireless. SMS sending and receiving was a bit flaky at first; however, now it works...with the exception of Apple authentication (2 step verification).

This is very untimely because I tried updating my iPhone today too and now I have hit a road block. I thought I had backup authentication codes, but apparently that's not the case. Any way, that's not a Koodo matter. Why are the SMS texts being rejected?

Try going to settings/general/about and see if a carrier update pops up for Koodo. Barring that, I would try doing a network settings reset.

Note: this will erase all your saved wifi and Bluetooth connections.

Thanks. I tried that. Nothing popped up. I reset my phone completely....created a new Apple ID. Now I am not receiving any text. This is very frustrating!!

If only Koodo had text to email like Rogers has, I could get a copy of my sms via my email.

Just an update. My wife sent me several texts. None came through. Then, I sent her one. She replied back and I got it. Both devices have iMessage DISabled. There's something screwy going on with the network and/or my account. It's been about 4+ hours since porting.

Still no Apple messages. I tried using another device (Android) and same thing. In fact, it took about 60 seconds to send out a text. It was in pending status for that time. Hence, this is a network issue with Koodo not a device issue.

If it is not working by the morning, I would contact Koodo via Facebook or Twitter. They should be able to sort it out. It may be an error in the porting.

I know...and now my bank's SMS verification code didn't come through. I really would like someone at some point to give me an explanation on why this is happening.

I would try to turn on/off the iphone every 4 hours and see if there is an update on sms. What model of iPhone are you using?

Good suggestion. I am using an iPhone 7.

iPhone7 shouldn't have any problem, 5s and lower has some strange activation time. Even a genius at apple store said he gave up on another koodo phone. (Apple didn't sell Koodo phone)

Indeed...all this is quite frustrating. I ported a friend's iPhone 7 to Public Mobile from Rogers, it took less than 5 minutes and it everything went smoothly...like silk.

For me, I am really ancy and uneasy because I need immediate access to my iTunes account which has a lot of data backed up there from my many apps including contact information.

Just an update. I contacted my cellular network team at work.  They connected me to the "right" people (not customer service) at Telus. My port was successful. Why I did not receive the text is unknown.

However, the issue with Apple still remains. There are a couple of other threads here where users used Apple's two-step verification and their texts were not coming through. In my case, Apple network engineers have been asked to look into my issue.

Just an update. The issue was resolved about a month after I ported my number to Koodo from Rogers. Apple finally recognized that my number is with Koodo, not Rogers. You can also see which carrier your number is with. For Public Mobile or Koodo, it will say Telus: https://www.twilio.com/lookup
