Just in case anyone is wondering, my trip to the U.S. cost $49 instead of the $40 it would have with the old package. Too bad someone said that they were gone before others figured out you could add it on by calling.

Calling isnt a guaranteed option and i believe is only available with the 30 day pacakages. Its very foggy what yiu can and cant get.

Just Glassin' but there's little comparison because the new options allow greater freedom compared to the tiny data buckets which were previously available. We burned through the roaming package we got last time in under a week. If we took the same trip yes it would have cost us a little more but we'd have our entire plan data bucket available (8gb).

So if I understand this correctly this roaming feature is $100 a month if I am in the USA for three months (7.99p/day, $100 cap)

For us, the new roaming plans are a disappointment. When we go to the US to visit family for 2-3 weeks, we use our phone for some text ing and a few phone calls. Something every day, but not $7 worth. we miss the old plans! while a bit limited as to choice, they served us much better ($40 vs $98 for 2weeks.)

If you arent using your phone much you can use the pay per use rates instead of easy roam.
Then, if there are days where you need to use it a lot, you can add easyroam to your account for that day.

Yes, Allan, but that's unnecessarily complicated, IMHO.  I'm not sure why Koodo put together this awkward and expensive plan, and one that creates false charges when Koodo users are near a border.  It has received close to 100% thumbs down from its customers.  Time for a rewrite!

The folks who were clamouring for an Easy Roam type product a year ago are now silent, replaced by those wanting the old plans back. The view from here is not reality.

Folks ALWAYS were and are susceptible to roaming charges when near the US border. This is unchanged. You can easily prevent such roaming charges by turning off Automatic Carrier Selection on your phone.

David, I don't recall ANY people clamouring for a product more expensive than the old plans.  Can you point me to their posts?  What I do recall is people asking for better and more flexible roaming. "Easy Roaming" is neither.
