I have a BB z30. Software Release 10.3.2.2226. Under App Permissions there is listed Amazon and App Store. When I select one or the other I find that in Permission Details I cannot turn off Location. It is sort of a duller blue colour and non responsive. I know at least one of the Masters has a z30 and I wonder if anyone has figured out how to turn the Location permission off ?

There is no way to modify android app permissions. Back when I had an android phone, I tried privacy guard. While most of the time, it worked, but sometimes disabling a permission would cause the app to crash. Most of the workarounds privacy guard did was to send random data instead. All this to say, likely the reason for inability to adjust permissions is for reliability.
I wish there was a way...

Thanks Ry, I was afraid that might be the answer. Apart from the fact that I suspect that those two apps are nibbling at my data, I think there is a privacy issue with it. It says " Allows this app to access your device's current or saved locations." Maybe that's not really an issue, but you can deny permission to all other apps on my phone.

I.have a Z30, the only way around this is to shut off location services under settings.

Adding: Which if it wasn't clear, would completely disable all location services for all apps so you probably wouldn't want to do that

Hi Chad. I did that and then checked Applications Permissions and it shows all other location permissions denied except for Amazon and Appstore and both say "Location- allowed."

Wel it's allowed but the system is shut off. I doubt it's being fed location information.

Tested with my GPS program, it was able to tell that gps wasn't enabled. No location was fed to it.

Thanks again Chad. I tried mine too and it says it isn't available because location services are turned off. Hopefully that solves things. Thanks too Ahmed if there is something I want to use, like GPS, I'll turn it on for what I want and then I'll disable them all again.
