Trouble with Samsung hotspot with other company

I have a Samsung T479B and want to use it as a WiFi Hot Spot. I'm with Virgin but can't get the answers I need. I want the keyboard and that's why I don't want to switch because I don't want a Blackberry, which seems like the only other phone around with a keyboard. How can I get a plan or data stick with Koodo?

Koodo doesn't sell data sticks or data only plans, Dom. However if your T479B takes SIM cards, and is unlocked, you can use it with any of their current promotional plans. Koodo does allow tethering.
Does that answer your question somewhat? If not, please elaborate what exactly you are looking for ;)

Koodo does not offer data sticks. You can check to see if your phone is compatible.

If so, then you can see about a plan with Koodo

Why not just switch to koodo?

I'd like to keep my phone but maybe I'll get another one through Koodo that tethers more easily (since mine does not - I'm getting a dial-up prompt and then a fail message).
