Travelling to India/Nepal/Bali with SamsungGalaxy S and Apple 4S Have added Int voice roaming but pop up window said Int dialling and Ld saver needed as well. True?. Don't anticipate much use, more for emergencies so don't plan on buying SIM as going across states.
Also should we keep our phones turned off to avoid unnecessary charges?

I would definitely turn off data, that's going to be very expensive. Calls/texts would be too but if you really absolutely need to use the phone then yes, you need those add-ons.

According to the updated Koodo page and also confirmed by our Koodo contact, the Int dialling and Ld saver ($3/month) add-on is no longer required to enable international roaming,

I would give Koodo a call to see if there was just an error on Koodo's side.

To prevent unwanted use you can turn on airplane mode and just turn on wifi if you needed to use internet. Note that incoming texts from Canada, etc will incur roaming charges and there is no way to stop that if you want to use your phone (talk, text) while roaming

Incoming and out going texts are $0.60/text. Incoming and outgoing voice is $2.50/min
