Is there an add on I can buy that is just a flat rate for a certain number of international texts for say 10 days? I will be going to the U.S. and Mexico but won't be in either one for very many days, so it's kind of expensive to buy both a text add on for the U.S. and one for Mexico. Any suggestions for how to do this better?

One option: Buy the Mexico text plan @ $15. Go à la carte while in the US. First US text will set you back $5.00, but the next 99 are free WITHIN the same monthly billing cycle.

Won't cover you for voice but you seemed to be uniquely concerned with text.

You can do pay per use roaming rate or a mix

Yeah. I see see lots of "buy this plan" but nothing about how to make it work. Been in Mex with my Samsung silent for a month.

A month in Mexico? I am jealous!

Which Add-on did you get Roderick?
When you turn on your phone do you get any network connection?

Koodo uses 3 carrier partners in Mexico
Its friends of mine. I'll have to check. We have Movistar service here (Loreto). I assume they needed to purchase that particular service from Koodo?
Sorry. Yes a whole month! And Movistar shows on the phone (service bars) but when they try to send an SMS they get a sim card error. I'm not much help I'm afraid. Last time I travelled was using a phone box and BC Tel Calling Card. Even then, one had to dial into AT&T or whatever in order to get connection. I assume something similar. There must be some kind of agreement twixt Koodo & Movistar OR they would have to buy Movistar service while here? no?
