Heading to Mexico for 2 weeks and need to know how to reset my phone so I can still text to other phones [iphones] in Mexico.
I have read & read here but still don't have it figured out.
I have 1G of data on my plan, Canada wide calling, unlimited texts, but an not up on all the lingo and how to do things as this is my first smart phone, a [not-so-smart] Nexus 4.
Please give me clear instructions on how to just have the ability to text in Mexico at the lowest cost for 2 weeks - Thanks!!

If you're exclusively texting local numbers in Mexico, consider unlocking your phone and buying a prepaid SIM card in Mexico to use while there OR buy a roaming package for $15 you get 75 outgoing texts and unlimited incoming texts and the one for $40 gives you 50 outgoing texts, 50 anytime minutes and 50 MB data

No, I need to be able to text Canadian iphones also there at the same time, just so we can connect in timely fashion when different agendas are happening...
I have been told it is easy to do, relatively inexpensive, but don't know how to do it.
I am afraid of unexpected roaming charges, data charges, etc and can't call Koodo to find out how to do this.

Just click on the link Sheila posted above. Look for Mexico and the Carribean on the site. Then just follow the easy instructions. It say that you need simply text a four digit code. Got it?

Thank you RudyW & Shiela...
Yep, I now have text in Mexico for 30 days. Confirmed via msg from Koodo
Now please - what do I turn off in my phone to prevent voice calls or voice mail or other charges? I just want text available for my away time.
