Travelling to Hawaii -question US booster add-ons

Hi my child will be travellingto Hawaii I plan on setting her up with a prepaid base plan of 15 $(unlimited text) if I add a US talk booster on that will she be able to call home to Canada if needed ?  She has a IPhone S.

Yeah that'll work. How long will she be there for? It might be better to get a local prepaid sim card instead.

From what I understand, yes you would be able to use it while having only a base plan.

Koodo Prepaid Baseplan plus US talk booster is the way to go. She will have a Canadian number so there will be no hassle communicating with her in either direction.

Finding a local SIM and US phone number that has long distance to Canada included might be difficult to find quickly.

In that case yeah for two weeks that should work well enough. I happen to have a very low threshold before I opt for local Sims but in that situation yeah that's fine.

True but there's the usual VoIP options to that end.
