I am travelling to Mexico for a week, I don't need to contact anyone while I am there, however I will be using my phone for free wifi and taking photos. Will i be charged for any texts/calls that i receive?

Simply remove your SIM card to avoid any accidental charges. You phone will fully work in wi-fi. If you want to receive texts this is not an option though, unless you text through apps like viber. Best solution to avoid surprise charges.

Yes you will be charged for calls & text at the roaming rate for anything you receive in Mx.

You can pull out the SIM card before leaving Canada and use your phone as a mini-tablet. Wi-fi & camera will still function, but no calls, texts or picture messages will come thru.
