Travel in remote Mexico

My daughter is using her Nexus 5 in an out of the way place in Todos Santos, Baja Calif. Mexico. She has been there for 2 weeks already, and has another 2 weeks to go. She purchased the $40 Mexico/Caribbean plan through Koodo before she left. She has already reached her limit in outgoing texts, and has not been able to access any data or air time. Is there any flexibility in the plan that would allow her to send more texts since she isn't able to access the data or air time? I would appreciate receiving any suggestions that would help to keep her bill as minimal as possible. Thank you.

Sure, any additional text would be 5$/100 texts.

As for data, make sure her data roaming is on.

As for airtime, if she is able to send and receive texts than calling should not be an issue...what happens when she tries to make a call?

Sorry Mathieu, but
wrong information here. Any additional outgoing text messages in Mexico are
0.60$ each.
