Transferring to Koodo while traveling in the U.S.

I'm in the U.S. from Canada for 2 months. My current provide is Fido and I bought a travel pack for 2 months. I'm completely dissatisfied and want to cancel my service with them altogether. I'd like to move to Koodo, they offer much more reasonable plans to Canadian travelers to the U.S. Can I cancel my Fido service and begin a contract with Koodo while I'm here, keeping my current phone number? I need a new phone also as my screen is cracked. Would I keep my current phone or get a new one here?

That being said, I believe you can only ship to a Canadian address.

You can do the port (bringing Fido number over to Koodo) online via the self serve portal as long as you are the primary account holder.

Alternatively, is your current phone unlocked? If so, it's probably best to simply sign up with a U.S. carrier for the time being as you'll be paying a lot less vs. roaming packages and join Koodo once you're back in Canada.
