I have two accounts with Koodo (myself and my son), and he wishes to transfer his phone into my account so we can talk between ourselves without impacting our monthly minutes limit. How does him and I go about doing that?

You both need to visit a Koodo store with 2 pieces of ID each, Elaine, and then have them merge the two accounts into one.

He is currently living in another city, too far away to make this practical. I was told at the Koodo store that we could do it online.

Unfortunately, this is the only way to merge the accounts.

The other way to do this would be for you to open a new line on your account and have him cancel his. The drawback of this is that he'd lose his current phone number.

If you choose this, you can have him purchase a SIM card where he is. He can give you the SIM card number and you can activate the new line and SIM card through your Self Serve.

Another thing you can do for unlimited chat would be to download an app like Fongo, which would give you both unlimited talk as long as you're connected to the internet (WiFi is obviously the best choice as your mobile data isn't unlimited).

If YOU are the owner of both accounts, as you stated in the original post, you should be able to do the merge at a local store. The only way I can see you completing it online is by creating a fresh account under yours for your son, but he would lose his current number.

He may be able to attend a different store to complete the transaction.

Good catch David. Missed that both accounts are in her name. If this is the case, then please disregard my suggestions (aside from the Fongo one, that still applies).

This was my case.
We had 2 lines/2acciunts(2bills) for kids under my husband name.
We called customer service to Marge them.
They added line 2 under line 1.
They still called it "transfer of ownership" even tho both accounts were under same name. And we paid fee($25 back then).
They both could keep their number and plan.
There was a partial charger for line 2 since it transferred into line 1.
But I received credit for line 2 as well because of unused portion.

I thought her case is same is mine (if I'm not misunderstanding).
And if so, she can call CS to make this marge.
