Transfering to Koodo

I just signed up for the koodo promotion that I got from public mobile. Everything went well but it says it says it will take 3 to 5 business days to arrive. I'm assuming that is the SIM card. I already have SIM card with me. Can I just activate that SIM card right away and not have to wait for the one to come in the mail.

If so what is the procedure to do this ?

Thanks,
Sam

hi Sameer,
Koodo postpaid doesn't operate similarly like prepaid, possession of a SIM card is ok but they still need human involvement. They need to run a credit check on your account, so you need to wait for someone from Koodo to do it. They will send the SIM after that. If you want to do it quicker, you could visit a store. However, $30 connection fee might apply.

Yes I totally understand that, but once it has been approved and they send the SIM by post, can I not use my existing SIM to activate my account ?

In other words once approved Koodo will ship me a SIM card. If I already have a SIM card available, why do I need to wait for 3 to 5 days for it to ship to me, I should be able to activate my account with my existing SIM.

You can contact Koodo to activate a sim card. It might be screwy though activating a second sim card while the one being shipped to you will be getting activated at sometime as well. I'd suggest just contacting Koodo and seeing if you can.

Also, where did you get your Koodo sim card? If it's an old one that hasnt been active for over 90 days then it's no good anyways.

A friend of mine who is an existing customer just ordered a new device with Kodoo. He got a SIM card with the new phone. He already had an existing SIM which he just transferred over. So that card was of no use to him and he gave it to me.

So how do I contact Kodoo to assist me with this. Is there a moderator similar to Public that I can get in touch with.

Contacting Koodo webstore to get them to do this exception to their standard process is very difficult and time consuming.  I highly recommended just waiting the 3-5 business days to minimize any chances for error
