I have an HTC One with a small tab left, and want to trade up to an iPhone 4 using tab small or tab medium.....any advice? Is this even possible? How much extra will I have to pay for the phone?

Well if you upgrade using the tab S, your tab can go as low as -150. If you upgrade using the tab M, your tab can go as low as -300 (with a $5 charge on your bill every month.

Whatever your tab is at right now, the difference between that and the tab you want is how much you can use towards the purchase of an iPhone.

So if your tab is at -55 right now and you get the Tab S, you have $95 towards the FULL price of an iPhone 4. If you get the Tab M, you have $245 towards the full price of an iPhone 4

Incorrect with the numbers. whatever your tab balance assuming in the negative is the price you would pay for the iphone 4 using the medium tab with a $5 tab charge. if it's in the positive you'd get it for free using the medium tab.

I'm going to assume you meant the One V and not the newer, much more awesome all-metal HTC One because going from that to an iPhone 4 would be a serious downgrade lol

Have you looked at the Nexus 4 at all? Since you're used to using Android but probably have a bad experience from using a low-end model like the One V, I would check that out first. It is newer, faster, and has better specs in pretty much every category over the iPhone 4. Best part is it's the same price.

The iPhone 4 is definitely an upgrade over a One V, but I also wouldn't recommend it. It will be discontinued next month (when it turns 3 years old).

Don't get me wrong, I love the iPhone 4. It was my 1st modern smartphone (after using Symbian and Windows Mobile 6), but it's time has long passed.

My suggestion is to wait until late September. The 4 will be replaced by either the 4S or the 5C in Koodo's lineup.
