Hi,
If I go to Thunder Bay and use my Koodo mobile phone with Koodo plan, would I be charged for long distance? I'm thinking of purchasing the $64 data plan with koodo however I don't want to be charged long distance or for roaming if I go to Thunder Bay. Also, does this plan include voicemail and caller ID?

Hello there Aaron.

First of all, all plans include voicemail and caller ID!

Second of all, the plans are Canada-wide, so no there won't be any roaming as long as you're in Canada and make calls to Canadian numbers.

Have a nice day.

And how much is roaming if we go to USA? Also, does koodo support iphone 4/4s? And is there a contract with koodo?

I was thinking the Tab is koodo way of a contract.

You can read my next post concerning the tab. If you don't understand, feel free to ask any question. Yeah, Koodo way of contract is the "TAB". But it's no normal contract. It's a discount on your phone. The day you don't want to be with Koodo anymore, you just pay your remaining tab and that's it. No higher fees, no penalty fees, etc. PLUS, you can change plans whenever you want if there's something new, you can change phone whenever you want!

It's a normal contract. And I believe that Rogers is alone in their ~$10 "disconnection fee", that is if they still have it.

My biggest personal concern is the contract. I don't like them and I want to join Koodo without one. Is this possible? I'm very interested in the $64 canada wide pan.

Yes you can totally join Koodo without a contract. The only thing near a contract is the Koodo tab, but it's optional!

sorry for all the post, but what if I already have an iphone 4/4s and I want to use it with koodo? Do I have to get a phone from them or not?

No. Considering your phone is unlocked, you can just buy a SIM card, activate your account and you're good to go! Also, in answer to your last question, you won't need any tab for your phone and you'll get 10% off your plan each month!!

Ok now I'm actually wanting to go with Koodo as soon as possible. So I want to transfer my phone number with rogers with koodo. How do I go about doing this and getting started with koodo? Do I have to go to their stores or could I just buy the sim card and do everything at home? Please tell me how I can get started with Koodo.

I think you need to go in-store in order to open your account. As for keeping your number see the link above. Plus, if you go in-store, the guy will mostly do everything for you and if you last-minute have questions, he will answer them for you.

EDIT : make sure your phone is unlocked because it will not work. For this, you would have to call Rogers to do it (50$)

Ahh :( That sucks Ivan, by the time you posted that I was at a koodo store.

Well good news is the I just came back from the Koodo store and I am now a Koodo member!!! Can't wait to start saving tons! Paying half of what I paid for rogers for tons of features and unlimited minutes! This is awesome! Thanks Robert for all the help and answers!!!
