The Tab - Two Questions

So I have two questions about the Tab:

1) My current Koodo plan is a 2GB "bring your own phone" plan that I signed up for last fall, and it came with an extra gig free as a Black Friday promotion for a total of 3GB. If I wanted to upgrade to a new phone, can I simply add the Tab to my existing plan (as essentially an add-on) without compromising my free promotional GB or having to change to a different plan?

2) Is it true the only way to pay off your Tab early is to pay the entire remaining balance at once? If so I'm surprised there isn't more flexibility there, since it really makes no difference on Koodo's end how fast or slow someone pays their tab off. It would be nice to have the option to pay $50 here and there to whittle my Tab down a bit quicker and get back to my basic plan charge without having to pay one large chunk all at once.

Hi Kevin

1, I believe you can put an old plan on a new tab, as long as its part of the new tab structure which by question 2 it seems you are. ( im not 100% on this )

2. Yes thats correct. we have to pay it off all at once(or per month with our bill), Let me tell you something . A few months ago when i signed up with Koodo, the lady at the booth sold me on the feature that i could in fact do this. Pay it off 20/50/ here 20 there. So yeah it definitely needs to be revised by koodo as they arent gaining anything by paying it at once, or over payments. Sorry mate!

Hey Kevin!

1-Chad is right. You will be able to keep the extra GB as long as you keep the same rate plan.  You do not have to change your rate plan if your upgrade your phone (unless you take Tab Plus).  

2-Yes, the only way to pay off the Tab charge is by paying it in full.  You can decide to pay a portion of it in store upfront so that the monthly Tab charge will be less per month.

Hi Kevin,

In regards to Question #2. What I see some customers do is they pay extra on their bill through online banking or going to the bank. So when they are ready to upgrade or if they want to clear out their negative tab balance, they have extra money on their bill balance to cover the negative tab balance. I've seen someone have -500 bill balance because they decided to pay an extra 20 bucks when they pay their bill through the bank.
