Hi Taylor,

You can text the whole world for free :)
However, your friend might incur huge roaming bills, so you better ask them if they wish to be texted while abroad :)

You can receive texts from anybody without charge as long as you are in Canada.

If you post your own new question next time, you will get your answer/help much quicker ;)

Nope. As long as you're in Canada, any texts you send are good to go for any phone # in the world (if Koodo has an agreement with that country to send their texts across). However, that person who is travelling will more than likely be charged roaming fees (if they're Canadian as well).

To avoid your friends from being charged (since most US carriers charge for TXT'ing Canada, you might want to suggest they get "Google Voice". For you it'll be the same you'll just need to TXT a different #. For them they'll just need to use the Google Voice App.
