I'm going to the USA and see there is a $5.00 for 100text messages. My question: does this allow me to send 100 messages regardless of my billing date? Ie Do I get billed the $5.00 if it takes me 2 months to send 100 messages? Or is it billed $5.00 per month?

I'd say $5 per month since voice and data are billed this way.

The billing cycle guillotine strikes again.

You can end up paying up to $5 or $10 per text.

Would be much easier to bill a dime every outgoing international text, OR offer the option of buying a bucket at an agreed price which would expire xx days after BUYING the bucket, nothing to do with billing date, much the way the text/data roaming add-ons work.

Current set-up is a needless generator of ill-will over an item that should be worth a nickle a pop. Some US providers charge less than 5 cents per text to Canada and the same per minute for voice calls.

Your phone is supposed to be a useful ally, not a mousetrap set to spring every xx days.
