I'm having difficulty tethering my Samsung S4 and S3 to my ThinkPads. They won't tether by wire or wirelessly. Both work fine otherwise. They were not bought from Koodo.

That's odd. You're setting then up as a wireless hot spot and your laptop isn't seeing them?

Are you able to use your mobile hotspot with any other device?

I set up as a wireless hotspot and my laptop sees it and connects with it. But it does not provide Internet access. In Windows 7 this shows up in my "network and sharing center" where you can see a connection with the galaxy but the bar to "internet connection" has a red X on it.

I have two laptops, a galaxy S3 and a galaxy x4, with two different cell accounts. Both laptops see the galaxys and connect with them. Both do not follow through to the Internet. Once, one of the computers got Internet with one of the galaxys, but the next time I tried it didn't. I have also tried switching sim cards: no luck.

Guess this is not a common problem....
Thanks for thinking about this.

What have you tried so far to rectify this?
