I have a Moto G as my main phone on my account with you but want to get my backup phone repaired which is a SamsungS! But, in order to get it repaired I wanted to activate it and its' SIM card for a day, then, go back to making my MotoG my main phone. So, how do I do this?

If the S uses a micro sim, just put your moto g sim into the S. Nothing else to do.

If not

Your old sim can still be activated on the same phone number as long as its been less than 90 days since it was last active. If it's been over 90 days you'll need a new sim card.

Alternatively you can use a sim adapter but I'm not a huge fan of those. They can damage your device.

Once you have the proper sim, log into self serve and Selecr the MOBILE PHONE tab, select. SWAP MOBILE PHONE, then select. NEW SIM IN MY CURRENT PHONE

From there you can migrate your service to the new sim number.

When you're ready to go back to the G you can migrate your service back to the Old sim number

Unless the Samsung Galaxy phone he has is an S3 or newer it will use a micro sim card. Anything older (S2 or original Samsung Galaxy S) requires a normal size sim card. Spot on answer by the way Chad :)
