You need to get an unlock code for the phone to work. Also, depending on how old the phone is, it may not be compatible with Koodo's network even if it's a "sim card phone". use this to find out: http://help.koodomobile.com/getting-s...

To get an unlock code, you either have to get it through Rogers for $35-50 (forgot how much it was exactly) or through a 3rd party. Many online sites sell unlock codes for a few bucks.

I'm not sure I read this question right. But if a phone was originally from Telus , it has to be unlocked before you used it for Rogers, right?
So does OP need to get the unlock code again?

So phone is originally from Rogers? If previous owner is owing money to Rogers, I don't think Rogers is going to give him/her/previous owner an unlock code.
And I cant tell how 3rd party unlocking service works in this case...

What makes you think that it's a Telus phone? Everything seems to point that this is a Rogers phone.

Plus, Ahmad raised a good point about compatibility. If this is a 2G Rogers device, then it would only work with Rogers/Fido. Telus/Bell/Koodo/Virgin/Wind would not support the use of this phone. What is the exact make and model of your phone?

Good to hear you got it working.

I'm still confused as to how a phone with a Telus splash screen is locked to Rogers. Well, I suppose that the phone could've had the mainboard swapped out with one that's locked to Rogers and then had the Telus firmware flashed to it.
