Hi Debby, Koodo is owned by Telus, and sometimes Telus shows up on my phone too. No worries, you won't be charged extra, your plan has not changed and it honestly means nothing :)

It's actually been more common lately. Had two people in today asking the same thing.

Nothing to be worried about :)

Telus/Koodo should have sent everyone a text explaining that due to network changes, your network might show as Koodo or display an R for roaming, but that merely indicates that you now have extended coverage.

Same communications folks that sent us an email a few weeks ago welcoming us all as new customers.

Your coverage is not extended Bob, Koodo has always used Telus towers as well as Bell Mobility towers and Visa versa they all share towers across Canada.

And when on the extended network the phone should say "Koodo EXT"

At least that's how Rogers is going to be.

Check the promoted response and read through the links, for those of you who are interested in the details. Otherwise, it's business as usual.

We all understand the extended coverage. A Koodo phone showing Telus has nothing to do with the extended network though.

Like I said above, is seems as though the carriers are going to be showing "EXT" alongside the carrier name when on the extended network.
