Im so happy to see tablet plans finally. I have a cottage with no internet access available, is there a way to use the tablet plan as internet at the cottage?

For sure. Wherever we have network coverage it will work Nelson!

Mobile plans are fine for phones and tablets. Just don't go hog wild tethering a laptop or desktop computer.

The main reason for getting internet is security and being able to control heat and locks remotely along with a small amount of surfing and email. 2gb will be lots for my purposes. I'm thinking of an using a 4g/lte modem with the tablet sim card?

"A tablet plan may only be used with a tablet device, and requires that you maintain a Koodo mobile phone plan. If these conditions are not met, Koodo may terminate your tablet plan in accordance with the Service Terms."

You'll need to use the sim card in a tablet. After that you can do what you want.

At the end of the day does Koodo know/care if the sim is in a 4g/lte modem vs a tablet?

Do they know? Yes, your device reports itself to the cellular network.
Do they care? Time will tell.

I'm sure they will care since they took the time to put that in the service terms... But we'll see how things will go.

Yeah hard to say eh?  Fido I believe has the same verbiage but definitely do not enforce it (i.e. I've been using a Fido "tablet plan" in my phone's second SIM slot for several months now without issue)
