Tab Large is ridiculous?

Am I missing something about Tab Large?  Tab Medium is a simple 24 month interest free loan of $360, recovered over 24 months ($15/month tab charge).  Tab Large is similar - $504, recovered at $21/month.  But with Large you also seem to have to take the higher priced Large plans, which start at $74, instead of the Medium plans starting at $45.  You seem to be stuck paying around $30/month extra with Large for comparable plans - over 24 months that's an extra $720.  Who would do that, just to avoid fronting $144 at purchase time?  Am I missing something obvious?

Nope that's about it. I wonder why people would do it myself. They do tend to get more discounts / sales for phones tho but I still consider it absolutely not worth it.

No you arent. Tab large isnt a good deal. The only benefit is a lower $ amount that people have to put down on the phone.

It isn't so much "not worth it" as it is loan-shark/usury territory - way beyond Tony Soprano.  Unless my sleep deprivation has hit my math skills, $720 over 24 months on a $144 loan seems to be an annual interest rate of 250%.  That would be a weekly "vig" of something like 5 points a week, and I seem to remember even Tony didn't charge that much... :)

Loan shark doesn't apply here as it's a rate plan that you're accepting. Koodo definitely comes out ahead though regardless.

"territory", not "legally equivalent".  It is still unconscionable for Koodo to be have this combo on offer.  I seem to remember that the last time I was looking at this stuff the Large plans at least had bigger data allowances that offset some of pain.  I'd be fascinated as to how many people actually take the Large plan, and how many of those would still choose it if the finances were clearly explained before they pulled the trigger.

You'd be surprised at how many ppl are short sighted and think their entire value of a deal is getting a free phone with the plan cost not being an after thought but not a thought at all. With ppl wanting cream of the crop phones but not a wallet to match and a cheque to cheque life this leads them to falling into the tab large and tab large plans.

I'd love to know how many tab large takers quickly get themselves into trouble of not being able to pay for their "Not very thought out" purchase.

MP don't mean everything with a camera, the G6 has a much better camera than the G4 even with the lower MP. I actually like the shots with the G6 I had then with my Note 8 especially with the second lens being a wide angle which I used regularly and I barely ever use the telephoto lenses on cameras because portrait modes are so finicky and only good for one thing and the zoom is only 2 times for quality lossless zooming which isn't all that much.

Yeah you can get good $0 phones on the lower tabs at times but it's more likely the "Best" phones to be $0 or $100-$200 upfront on thr large tab and double, triple or quadruple that on the lower tabs

@northernraven, ever hear the phrase: "voluntary tax on the stupid"?
