Unless she paid full price for her phone up front, yes she did pay a tab charge, it was just built into the plan price instead of added separately.

Depending on how and when you acquired your device a tab charge would apply.

basically anyone who financed a device through the tab after April19 2015 would have to repay the tab through a tab charge. And anyone who used tab medium or large before that date would also have the charge

if your mom brought her own phone or paid for her phone outright or was on the old style tab small, that would explain why she doesn't haver a charge

My mom bought $0 Samsung Slll in Dec 2013 with two years contract, and after two years which is at the end of 2015. She upgrade her cellphone to Samsung A5; she paid $50 for getting the new phone and also sign the two years. She didn't paid Tab Charge either for Samsung Slll or A5.

My cellphone is Motorol X play.

im sorry if you don't like the answer but that is the answer.

your mom may have had credits as the tab system was vastly different than it is today
