I paid for my phone in full. Why do I have a tab balance? I am a new customer to Koodo.

What is your balance? Does your bill say that you are on some sort of tab?

Did you get a pricing special on the phone? Some specials may require purchase on the TAB to qualify, and the sales rep put $1 on the TAB to allow you to qualify for the special pricing.

Is this your first month with Koodo? You didn't take over ownership of some other account? Did page 3 say anything about making a tab payment as part of your bill? Billing disputes generally require calling 611 to settle. Since you said that you never got a tab, and it shows a negative balance, even if it's .91, I'd say you should either send a private facebook message to Koodo's page or call in to get it removed.

Because you still have to pay the tab off, because you have bought the phone on contract.that is why you have a balance.

Hey Jaki - not sure if the store explained this, but the regular price of your phone was actually $550 at the time of purchase. You were given a bonus activation credit of $190, but in order to get that you had to take a tab. So even though you purchased the phone outright, there's a tab of $1 on your account, and you benefited by getting the phone for $359 instead of $550. Hope that helps.

yes my phone was on sale price that's why I chose it.
No mention of me owing money for phone's regular price. So now this "tab" means I am paying regular price for phone by charging me every bill with $1.
This seems deceiving and illegal actually.

Not quite. You're paying off $1 in total, not $1 every month. In fact it should have been fully charged on your first bill and you'd never see it again, but due to some sort of glitch, it's knocking off $0.05/0.04 cents every month - chipping away at it slowly. The kicker is that it's not even being charged to you. The system set this up under our old tab system somehow, and it's actually Koodo that's paying it off for you. If you look at your bill you'll see that you're not actually being charged anything towards the  $1 tab. So.. you got a pretty sweet deal :)

Thank you kindly for the explanation. Definitely a confusing billing practice.
Luckily I love my new phone.
Thankyou for your time Ranjan.
