I am trying to set up my blackberry bold. I went to a Koodo store and was told I could just put my sim card in it. I can send texts and make calls but cannot connect to the internet. Do you know what is going on? I have a data plan, do I need a blackberry one?

Yes, you must make sure your plan is a Blackberry plan or else the data provisioning will not work. Which one is it?

This doesn't apply if you have the newer BB (the Z10) since they use the same servers as all other smartphones now.

It's BB Bold. So if I switch to a bb data plan it should start working right away just my putting my sim card in?

It should, yes. After the switch is made, wait a few minutes and then take out your battery and SIM card for about 60 seconds to reset the phone/services. Pop them back in and test it out to make sure.

If you still have issues, I would call tech support to find out the problem.
