My daughter currently has a blackberry curve but wants an iPhone. If I purchased an iPhone off of someone, would I have to do anything with the SIM card or phone to activate it under her current plan?

Depending on what model the iPHone will be you'll need to buy either a micro or a nano SIM card. After that, you can switch it online via self serve. The only thing you'll need is the SIM card number.

You could do this in store

If you have the proper tools to cut the SIM to the proper size for the iPhone, it can be done. But it is not worth the time or hassle. It's easier to just buy the proper SIM from Koodo and activate the SIM card on your account.

Also make sure that the iPhone you are purchasing will work on Koodo or is unlocked.

You can try but it's not easy. I'm cheap but even I would just spend the $10 for a new sim.

Also make sure the 4S is either a Telus/Koodo phone or unlocked or it wont work with Koodo

As long as the Iphone is not SIM- or network-locked, then yes, you can switch carrier from Blackberry to iPhone...if not you have to get your iPhone remote unlocked from any vendors online like .Once unlocked you can use any carrier to it
