Switching to Koodo. How long will their current plan specials be on (NS) or can I have them hold until my new phone arrives?

I am not currently a Koodo customer but will be switching as soon as my Blackberry DTek 60 arrives that I have on order direct form Blackberry. My question is how long will the current special offers for plans be available or can I put one on hold until my phone arrives at the end of this week. I want to get the NS plan at $65 per month with 2GB + 2GB bonus data.

I don't believe it's been said how long the promo is good for but you cannot put a plan on hold. At least not if you want to keep the rate an that you want. You could always switch now and just pop your Sim in your dtek60 when you get it.

There would be the question as to whether I could use the same SIM card. I currently have a Blackberry Classic so I would have to get the SIM card for it when I switch to Koodo then get a new one again for the DTek 60 when it arrives. It would have been sooo much easier if I could have gotten my Blackberry from Koodo.

Koodo's sims are actually tricut sims so they come with adapters so you can use all three sim sizes. This however isn't even important as the Classic and the Dtek60 both use nano sim.

Buy a correct sized SIM & a plan as soon as you want. When your phone comes, set it up and port your number to your newly created account. You will have a few days of overlap, but you will have the certainty of the plan you want. Given the month end is tomorrow, it is possible that the current plan offerings may disappear with the Month!

EDIT: Allan's comment would suggest you can make the move to Koodo today, and simply swap the SIM when your new phone comes.

I checked, the Classic uses a Nano Sim whereas the DTek60 uses a Micro Sim. Great idea David, I will pop over to the Koodo store and see if I can purchase the plan and the SIM then port my number when my new phone comes in. I realize the three sizes of SIM cards are all on the same but I would think once I pop the Nano out of then I would no longer be able to put it back in and use the Micro size SIM

The DTek60 uses Nano-Sim. You may have been getting confused with MicroSD.

You can buy an adapter should you ever feel the need to switch to a phone that uses micro Sim. Pop it to micro for your classic and then pop to nano when the dtek60 comes in and you'll be good to go

Don't forget to get referred so you and the person referring get 50 bucks each. Make sure the steps are followed exactly.
