I have a smart phone with Kodoo but recently got an iphone....can I activate it myself or do I have to take it in to Kodoo for them to do it for me?

Where did you get the iPhone from? Was it a Tab upgrade or did you buy it from a third party/gift?
I bought it from a third party

All you need is an active sim card in it.
If your current phone uses the same size sim just pop it in and you are good to go.
otherwise, head into a koodo store to get the appropriate sim and then pop that one in.

Is it a koodo or Telus iPhone because if it isn't then it will need to be unlocked first to use on Koodo which can be pricey.
