I am looking to switch to Koodos, I have a Samsung Note 5 - will this be compatible to use with a monthly plan ? Does the phone have to be open? What do I need to do to get this switched over and will this be on a contract basis or month by month?

Yes the Note 5 is compatible either a Telus version(90% of the time). or unlocked. You need to go and sign up for a post paid account or pre paid and get a SIM card to get going. Its up to you wether you want to go pre paid or post paid. Visit your local koodo booth or visit www.koodomobile.com

If you want postpaid/monthly plan, they will run a credit check on you even you bring your own phone.
So, don't forget to bring proper ID to a Koodo store.

Also, do not cancel your current provider if you want to port/transfer your number to Koodo. ( They need active account to do this). Bring your account info and store rep will help port your number too.

You can confirm that your particular model will be compatible by going to: willmyphonework.net
Chances are if you bought it in Canada at least 3G will work.
