Suspending service - then choose a new plan?

We need more information to answer your question.
Did you suspend your service due to lost/stolen or seasonal hold?
Or Koodo suspend your service due to non payment?
What plan do you have and do you still have a negative tab?

If you want to change plan you could do.so on self serve without suspending the service. This is what u understand from the question

I wish to suspend the service because I will be out of the country for a few months. In essence, it would be a seasonal hold.

As stated earlier, if I suspend the service and pay the $15 permonth, I cannot resume the service with the same plan. Ostensibly because that plan is not available.

Yes if your plan is expired at the time of resuming the line then you cant get it back, however, if you do not have a tab there are some pretty awesome no-tab plans that you can choose from, otherwise im sure there is a plan that is similar to your plan. What plan do you have right now?

That exactly what I do not understand. Why must I be forced to choose a new plan just because my current one is expired??

I am not cancelling or changing my plan. I simply want to suspend it while out of the country

Well a seasonal hold is a change of plan, which is why they then cant put back an expired plan.

Seasonal hold is a change of plan. Re-activating the phone when you come back is another change of plan.

The main advantage of seasonal hold that your SIM does not go stale and you maintain the number and current tab payment schedule. If you close out your account, you will have to pay off your Tab in one lump sum.

When it gets up and running, check out your self-serve to see what grandfathered plans are available to you personally.
