Suspending service for a lost phone: How does this work?

I'd love a little more info on suspending service for a lost phone. All Koodo says is "You have elected to suspend the following mobile phone's service " when on the tab for LOST/STOLEN PHONE. My question is: What does this do? Does it simply not allow inbound/outbound calls? Does it take effect immediately? And if we find the phone, can I simply reverse the suspension on the website , and does the phone start working again? Thanks! Feeling a little reluctant to choose an option like this without knowing what it means.

You got it Tim! The only correction is if you do find it, it does require a call to re-activate. Also bear in mind that monthly fees won't be suspended.

Ok, thanks. That's helpful. (I wouldn't mind trying to call the missing phone tomorrow, so maybe I will leave it active until then?? I thought I might suspend it for the night and then reactivate it tomorrow to see if I can get someone to answer it. I guess I will leave it for now.)

Presumably you have a screen-lock on the phone so leaving it on for the night likely not a big risk.

If you suspend you will not be able to use things like Android Device Manager or Find My iPhone since services will be off.  Also restarting services usually requires rebooting the phone
