Many more companies start offering student discounts for this and that (internet, mobile phones, etc.) but it never beat any of Koodo plans. Always gave the same thing for the same price. BUT, today I saw this!

It does not include Canada Wide, but for 40$/month, what can you ask more

Good promo, especially considering it's with one of the big 3 and you get all the 'bells & whistles' that Koodo doesn't offer.

What do you mean bells & whistles?

The only difference I saw was either the data or the airtime....

If Bell is bells, does that mean Telus or Rogers is whistles?
hehehe

Robert,
Aren't you in QC?

Koodo has a fantastic plan for us Quebecois,

I just moved my wife to it (gave up her 3gb grandfathered plan)

45$ gives unlimited Talk/Text/Pic Canada Wide
1gb Data
Data Overage of just 10$ per GB

So for 5$ more than the discout you would've gotten at the other company you're getting Canada Wide Calling included too!

Point Koodo!

Worth it or not? I'm still debating this! But the whole point of this is not debating which plan is better. It is to offer student discounts or perks since Koodo's future custommers are more likely to be new students and all this. Most of adults have their 2-yr terms with other cellphone companies. Therefore, making student come is a good idea for Koodo. What do you think?

If it's QC only, then Koodo already has a competitive plan for that.

If it's Canada-wide, then I'm expecting to see Rogers and Telus responding to this. I'm not completely sure if Koodo will, but if Fido and Virgin does; Koodo will probably also.

I think If Koodo was to add any student discount Plan it needs to stay Canada wide most of the students I have coming into the store to activate phones are leaving town for school and want to be able to call back home without the extra LD charges. I don't think a local only student plan would do well with Koodo or at least not in my area.

Andy, check out the screen shot I posted. The 50$ fido plan is identical to the 45$ koodo plan.

Like I said I'm sure koodo will double the data again that's all fido did. fidos $55 plan was the same as koodo's $50 but they doubled the data. same with the $45 and $65 and fidos $80 plan is still the same as koodos $75

To be fair that $80 fido plan comes with a device subsidy that could be up to $500. A comparable plan on Koodo would be $105 ($95 base + $10 large tab fee).

To chad, that's only in Quebec... While Fido is nationwide...

Totally agree like us students don't have much money and we would really like a special plan. High school and university students would really benefit from this.
