My phone was stolen the same day that i bought it. The only thing they did to help me was put 75 credits towards my negative tab balance .THAT'S NOT THE HELP I WAS LOOKING FOR!!! They have no insurance! I wanted to no if they could help me with getting a new phone. but they said NO...sorry for the inconvenience....ya...big inconvenience. I will never be with koodo again. I'm going somewhere else for my cell phone services.

That's terrible advice sorry to tell you but koodo did more than any other provider ever would in giving a $75 credit for the customers mistake

So what you're saying is that 75 points off the Tab you set up so Koodo would cover the cost of your phone is insufficient and that you somehow deserve more special treatment because your phone was stolen?

Actually, I'm suddenly totally game for this. And let's be fair to all of Koodo's customers while we're at it. $75 bucks for you, $75 for me, $75 for everbody else subscribed to Koodo. How many could that really be?

*quick internet search for most recent estimates*

So Koodo has over 1 million subscribers now...

i take it back

Nobody is going to just give you a new phone if you lose yours so no matter where you go things won't change.
I think Koodo was more than generous in giving you $75 for your mistake which had nothing to do with them.

From other carriers insurance is available but you have to ask for it and pay a monthly fee of around $10 a month with taxes and then when you make a claim you get charged $150 if you can return the old phone (so if it breaks) but in your case you wouldn't have been able to return the old phone as it was stolen or lost so you would be charged $300 for a new replacement of the same phone you lost or had stolen. I've went through the process with Bell and it costs a lot more then just replacing the phone if you happen to lose or break or get your phone stolen which is a fairly rare event since your paying $120 a year just for the insurance whether you make a claim or not, or over $400 to replace your phone if you make a claim. Nothings free especially when it's not the carriers fault.

Indeed, please tell us how your phone getting stolen is in any way Koodo's responsibility.

If you bought it fully on your credit card you may have insurance on it. But you have to file a police report first

I feel for you, but Koodo is a service provider first and a phone provider second. This isn't their fault.

I'd also like to point out that Koodo giving you a $75 credit on the Tab is only if you redeem a new Tab with Koodo. If you cancel and go elsewhere, you'll be responsible for the original Tab amount.

Going with everyone here. Jazzy, it sure sucks to be robbed of a phone, but you're being highly delusional here asking Koodo to foot your bill.

In fact, assuming you're a new customer, they've done MORE than enough with $75 off your Tab, considering the fact you (possibly) had no customer history with them.

Getting insurance is on you, too, if it's even available.
