SIM support for Galaxy Note 3?

If I buy an unlocked Galaxy Note 3, can I bring it to Koodo? It's new so it's not on your compatibility lists yet. Not sure if that's just because it's new and they're not updated - or because it's new and you don't support it yet.

If the latter, when can we expect support, if at all?

Absolutely, Kat! I know for a fact that some are using the Note 3 on Koodo :)
Support wont be given by Koodo, but if you have any questions, shout here in the forums and we'll be more than willing to help you out :D

Hi Sophia I'm planning to move to Canada very soon and want to know what model of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will work with koodos LTE band and be able to get all the advantage of the LTE service. Will buy the Note 3 gsm unlocked but don't know which one to buy. Thank you for you help.

If by support, you mean customer support or technical support, then Koodo will not provide you assistance on your phone if you have problems with it. Koodo will only provide support if the phone is sold by Koodo.

Otherwise, if you mean will Koodo's cellular network support the Galaxy Note 3, then yes the phone will work on Koodo's network.

You may run into SIM issues if you buy an unlocked model from online as Samsung has begun to put region locks on their phones with the Note 3 being the first phone they're doing it on. Just make sure it's a North American model or you might have to root the phone and use some software tweaks to get it working in North America on any carrier here.

Thanks for the replies. :) I made sure to ask if the phone would work in Canada before I ordered it, it's coming from an American-based company, so I (assume) it should be a North American version of the phone.

I just wanted to make sure Koodo's SIM cards would work with it before I got it! :)

When I ordered an unlocked galaxy Note 2 last year it came from an American outlet (expansys) but the phone was from France so just make sure to check. It should be the right one if they are knowingly selling them to ppl in Noryh American. There should be a sticker on the box that will say if its region locked to another area of the world.

Since you purchased it from a business, maybe they'll be willing to accept the phone as a return for a refund if they send out the wrong model.

Well I asked them specifically if it will work in Canada, so if it doesn't, I'm sure they'll take it back. Or fix it... Or something. :D It'd be bad for their business if they didn't, and they've got a pretty glowing reputation from what I've seen (otherwise I wouldn't have bought from them)

Thanks for the info though :)

Who did you buy it from?

Negri Electronics. They seem to care a lot about their reputation, they even (often, from what I've seen) post on outside forums on topics related to their company. Which seemed a little fishy at first, as if they were trying to cover up something. But I haven't seen many bad reviews at all. Those that there were, as I mentioned, ended up being responded to by someone from Negri Support.

Get ready to have to re enter the APN codes every 2 seconds though and if you call Koodo for support they will give you a hard time. Saying they don't support unlocked phones(even if it was a telus phone that koodo unlocked (yes REALLY)). I just find it really funny how when you ask koodo about unlocked phones before becoming a client they are all welcoming, just to get you a service bill but then give you a hassel when you commit to the service. Other than that Koodo is all right but i feel more expensive than they should be for the service you get.
hi guys what if i buy galaxy note 3 on telus? can i use it with koodo sim? thank u

You may have to get it unlocked by telus first. I would put a koodo sim in to see if it works, since some Telus androids have worked without unlocking. :)
oh ok thank u..
