My Koodo sim card in my 2 day old Nexus 4 will not register me for the Koodo network and as far as I know it should. I need help, or advice on what to do. My phone needs to be activated for this week.

Hi there Matt,

Did you by any chance purchase the phone and sim online?

No. I just recently bought it 2 days ago by upgrading from my old koodo phone. My nexus 4 was given a new Sim card. Now both phones still work but my nexus 4 still has no service.

What did you mean both still works? We're you trying to use your old phone while you already have the second one activated?

They both function, by that I mean they both turn on, but neither has service. Obviously my old phone shouldn't have service, but my Nexus 4 should have service. I haven't tried to do anything with my old phone other than turn it on to see if it still worked. My only issue is that I have NO service on my Nexus 4 and I feel like it's because I have two phones with two active sim cards, but I'm not sure.

If you have the phone with you, could you turn the phone off, remove and reinsert the sim and turn it back on? It's a simple troubleshooting but sometimes it just needs a reboot.

Matt, I recommend calling in to 1-866-995-6636 to reset your service to your Koodo phone.

Ok, I will do this first thing tomorrow, or during operating hours. I looked at the top left of my screen and it showed a caution symbol, when I dragged the screen from the top to the bottom it said that the "selected network (Koodo) is unavailable". I wonder if this is an issue with the servers at Koodo being down or if it is because of my sim card. I remember that a lot of times with my old phone the Koodo network would disconnect because of technical difficulties.

You can go to self serve online and try activating your new SIM Card maybe they didn't do it when you bought the phone. In self serve just click on mobile phone and then upgrade phone and choose with new SIM. it will then ask for the # on the SIM Card, enter it and submit. In about 15 minutes your phone /SIM Card will be active. if it still does t start working turn the phone off and back on and it should work.
Also make sure the phone isn't on airplane mode or the network isn't set to 2g or GSM only.

If you didn't activate new SIM yet just insert old SIM on your new Phone, it should work if you follow Paul last line advice.

I'm guessing since he didn't just use the old SIM that his old SIM was a regular sized SIM Card and the Nexus 4 takes a Micro SIM.
