I want to change my simcard (micro sim in iphone) and put it in a blackberry storm 2 (using a new sim card) which i just payed to have unlocked, koodo self serve is saying it wont work with the network but i payed to get it unlocked so id like to atleast try. If it doesnt work will i be able to re- activate my old sim card and use my old phone again?

just pop in the sim into your bb if the size is correct and if it doesn't work just pop it back into your iphone :)

no no i meant it works, i have two sim cards, one that fits into my iphone and one that fits into the blackberry. I want to know if i activate the one for the blackberry and it doesnt end up working with koodo, if i can immediately re activate my micro sim card and use my iphone again. i dont want to be left phoneless.

I believe all Storms were 2G devices, CDMA and only had 2100 umts. In short, won't work with Koodo.

See this thread for more info on sim swap

> currently using iphone with battery problem using acrtivated micro sd
> Bought a blackberry storm 2 and payed to get it unlocked
> have a koodo sim card that will fit into blackberry
> Koodo self serve says blackberry wont work with network but that makes no sense because i know people with this pone on koodo
> want to activate Blackberry sim card
>afraid if simcard doesnt work with blackberry i wont be able to reativate old one and use iphone again

Yes you can swap sims in selfserve however if a sim is left inactive for 90 days it will not work anymore. If what RY says is true and it is a 2g phone, it will not work with koodo.

Yes you can activate the new card and then you can activate the old card again that's no problem. You actually have 90 days before your old Sim card won't work if not activated again within those 90 days. So go ahead it's fine.

Well im attempting to use it now. Im gonna be kind of pissed if it doesnt work because we payed $40 to get this phone unlocked. The only reason im not using the iphone is because the battery is faulty (dies even if its at 70%) and warrenty wont cover it, so its a 100 dollar repair... and my old koodo phone has the front smashed so the warrenty didnt cover that either... i might be left phoneless.. does anybody have any idea what i could do? I think i have $50 open on my tab.

So you have 50 postive tab? You could get a moto g on tab small, it's a pretty good phone for the price.
and if its negative 50, you could just pay off the 50 and still get the moto g on tab s

If the phone didn't work you have nobody to pissed off with but yourself, since by your own statement Koodo already told you it wouldn't work.

Your bb may work (phone and text) but the data connection likely will not. Reason for this is the phone was originally a CDMA phone and had the slot for the sim so it could be used outside of Canada. I have the storm 1 and can not use it on telus with a sim card. Since koodo and telus are using the same network you may have the same results.

You'd also need the to use plan that has Blackberry in the plan name because otherwise you won't get data provionsing via the sim.

You'd need to change your plan to get data working if it will work at all.

Good luck.
