SIM activated but it hasn't arrived yet- moved from PM

So I made the switch from PM last week for my wife and I and ordered 2 new SIM cards. My wife just forwarded me an email stating her SIM was activated and it has her new Koodo number. How can the SIM be activated without porting? Won't this mess up her service with PM. Also, why hers and not mine? We are confused and hope this isn't going to mess up any service.

The SIM may be activated on a temporary number, awaiting you to port your numbers from PM.
Each line is fulfilled separately, so no surprise one occurred first.

So will I have to call to port or can that be done through self serve?

Question - so I know this deal expires March 15. 6 GB for $40 from PM to Koodo. 
I registered/signed up through the Koodo site to get the $100 referral bonus. 
However, my SIM CARD didn't arrive in the mail. Will I still be eligible for this plan?

If you are eligible, you will get the plan. As they have a backlog right now, if your SIM hasn't been activated, you should wait for an activation email and don't try to create an account yourself (otherwise there would be an error and you have to call Koodo to reset it)

Regarding the $100  referral credit, there was a topic somewhere in the forum, you could search for it, a Koodo rep has responded to that issue.
