I have a motorala g and I just got the new update. I want to put my phone on silent but how I used to do it was to press the power off button and it has a silent button. With the new update, I can't do that... How do I silence my phone and turn off my buzzer and still get notifications?

Unfortunately you can't. I also got the Lollipop update yesterday and was disappointed to see the silent function missing. Google the problem...a lot of people are frustrated with the lack of silent mode in Lollipop.

You can silence sounds and vibration by pressing down on the volume button and then tapping 'NONE' on the pop up menu that comes up. Unfortunately this will also disable your screen from lighting up and the LED notification light from flashing when you receive texts. Also be aware that by setting it to 'NONE' that any scheduled alarms will also be disabled.

I really don't understand why they got rid of the silent mode. My phone is set to silent for 8 hours a day but I still want to be able to visually see when I have received a notification during that time by looking for the flashing LED.
