A transfer of ownership requires the account be active for 90 days before the transfer can be started.

Hi there Stevie... You can certainly Transfer the Ownership to someone else, as MarioB said, it can be done after 3 months, account needs to be in good standing; the only thing here is, the person receiving the account will have a credit check too, so if when the credit check is done, the client is not eligible to carry the TAB, then if the transfer is completed, the client giving up the account will be charged for the rest of the TAB...

correct minus the negative tab balance goes to the new client. if the new client isn't eligible for a tab and there is a tab balance owing the transfer of ownership cannot be completed

If the person receiving the account is eligible for the services but NO for the TAB, The transfer can certainly be completed, but the TAB owing will be billed to the client giving up the number...!

Hi Stevie, one last information: a $25 fee is applicable for a transfer of ownership, to the new owner.

What you'll need to do is call into Koodo and inform them you intend on doing a transfer of ownership. Your account will be noted. Your friend then has a few days (can't remember if it's 3 or 5) to have their account set up. I'm pretty certain they have to go to a Koodo shop for a credit check, although it may be possible over the phone.

It's definitely possible over the phone. Channel support has done it for me several times.

They'll only make you go in store if there seems to be a discrepancy with the credit report and you(info you gave).

Well yeah Jonathan that'd work with Channel because they're in the store with you correct?

What I was referring to (and Ahmad likely just covered) is I'm unsure if they would do it over the phone as they are not exactly able to verify the ID information you are giving them. A store rep calling in is no big deal as they are taking your word you're verifying it.

Sounds like you may be wanting to do this due to credit reasons. If your friend really wants to help you and trusts you, why not just have them co-sign with you? If your friend doesn't trust you enough to do-so, then chances are a 3rd party corporation that doesn't know you outside of your bureau reports (ie Koodo) might not either, when the time comes!

I was misinformed when I signed up recently a week ago. The person at the Koodo store told me that I can sign up with my name and then can transfer or have Bill come under my wife name. Now that isn't possible it seems. Very disappointed. Feel like I have been cheated!

It IS possible, but there's a 90 day waiting period for new accounts... or, if she's not eligible due to credit reasons, than that is another reason.

I know the account holder's name will show up on the bill and I'm not sure if they can change that since that's based on the IDs that were used.

Thanks Jonathan,
They had told me that bill name will be for her. They also have her email id for self service.
