All of a sudden I started getting sign-in failed messages. It says that the server password has been changed and even if I sign in again, the messages keep coming. The password works fine to sign into the same email account on my pc. Is the server password different from the email account password?

Hi there Donna... I use the S II X and I am getting this message too randomly, not every day, but even if I get it, I still receive my e-mails from Bell... (that is the account that is giving me trouble) Hotmail works fine...

All I do is delete the notification and that's it... You may try to delete the account and re-set it up again to see if this solve the issue...

Thanks, that's exactly what was happening. I deleted the account and now can;t set up a new one...for any of my emails. Still says server password incorrect.

What's the email client, Donna? And did you go to the App list to Clear Cache & Clear Data?

Assuming you're using an Android:
Settings--> Applications--> "All" tab--> scroll to the EMail App you're using & enter it--> Clear Cache & Clear Data are there

Or a faster way (if you're using Android 4.x & up):
-Launch the App
-Access the "Recent Apps" list
-Long-press on that App
-Tap "App Info"
You'll now be in the same screen as mentioned through the first method
