Shock-Free Data not pausing!

My husband and I each have an iphone on an account with Shock-Free Data plans. The whole reason we signed up was so we could not get overage charges! We have each recent notifications at 75% and 100%, and I authorized a $10 top up one time. Both of us have since been sent additional notifications of usage beyond that limit, which we did NOT authorize. From the volume of similar threads in this forum, it seems Koodo badly needs to get their act together. If you can’t guarantee data blocking except when specifically authorized, then don’t falsely advertise it as shock-free!

Did you authorize a one time data top up or authorize to use your plans pay per use rates?

I replied “YES10” by text to authorize a one-time $10 top-up. My husband did as well, the same. We did not authorize pay-per-use data.

You shouldve been paused again then. In case you havent already, double check your ebill to confirm you recieved extra charges from data over the $10 amount and if so then contact Koodo. I'd suggest a message via facebook so that you dont have to wait on hold.

Maybe there's an error in the system as this should definitely not happen.

Hey Andrew! That's odd, the system should have automatically blocked your data once you reached 100%. I figured out the issue and applied a credit for the unauthorized data purchases. It shouldn't happen again however, if it does please don't hesitate sending us a quick message on Facebook. Thanks!

Just to add to Chris' note....shock free data works as intended. The issue seem to have been with your notification settings which was set to only notify, not to pause data.  A rep where you purchased the phone may have inadvertently changed the notification a data pause settings.
