Setting up a KOODO MOBILE Payee with online banking - Extra digit needed

To whomever has knowledge on this subject,

I recently set up online banking with ATB (Alberta Treasury Branch), and now I'm trying to set up a Payee for Koodo so that I can use my chequing account to pay my phone bill. However, after I choose Koodo Mobile as a Payee (on my banking site), it then asks for my account number, which I know is located on my phone bills both printed and online, but my account number is only 8 digits long, and ATB needs an account number that's 9 digits long... I talked with someone at ATB, and they said I need an extra digit - so my question is: is there a generic 9th digit that's needed? Or do I need to call in to Koodo and get a 9th digit? How does that all work?

My dad's been with Koodo for a while, and uses the same payment method I'm trying to use to pay his bill, but he doesn't remember how he got the 9th digit (as his account number is also only 8 digits, but on the ATB site, it shows up with an extra digit on the end).

If anyone has any thoughts on this, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It's not a generic digit, you'll need to call customer service and they can calculate the right one.

Perfect - thanks for the quick response!
I'll call Koodo right away then.

I called customer service and the lady gave me the digit "8"..and the phone went dead. Can you send me an e-mail at <albertomartins@Hotmail.com> confirming the didit as I do NOT want the payment that I will make later go astray!!!!!

Hi Alberto - assuming you've attempted to use your account number located on your bill and that did not work? (If you have not tried this, you can log into self-serve to retrieve your account number.) If you've tried the account number and it's not working, you can send us a private message on Facebook where an agent will authenticate your information and can then provide more details. Unfortunately we can't email you private account related info.

I suspect that Alberto is with Alberta Treasury Branch and requires the extra check digit added to the account number.
