So the data usage on my phone isn't in line with my actuall data with koodo. In settings it says to makw sure the dates are in line with your billing cycle but I can't find how to change the dates.

Go into your settings then data usage check set data limit so if your cap is 3gb set bottom line to 2.5 so you get a warning to one to your limit. After that you should see two dates like July 28 - Aug 27 you can change that to what your starting date is like Aug 6 - Sept 5 and after that it will start and if you hit your max allowed it should stop your data you can even ask Koodo to stop your data so you don't go over. I did it with my granddaughter she eats data up in 2 weeks and it cuts her off and won't start till the next cycle.

And remember Bernie your data usage on the phone won't exactly reflect your real usage. Check regularly usage on self-serve website. It is in real time and the most accurate. You can save yourself in the future many surprises in terms of data usage.

I don't think that the data counter on the phone is way off compared to the real-time one. You won't get such big surprises if you don't look it up regularly. Also, Koodo does notify you when your each your limit or near it.

@Robert

If he has shock-free data plan, indeed Koodo will notify him but people on this very forum complain frequently that somehow something occasionally goes wrong (could be their fault obviously) in terms of data usage. I am talking about surprises in general not necessary in comparison to the usage on the phone itself.

If anything you will more than likely have less actual data usage than your phone shows because your phones data counter doesn't know that the data used for MMS and Koodo self serve website do not count towards your data allotment so it will include that data as well.

@Paul Deschamps

It is good that you mentioned it here. That is what I wanted to say, as well.
