When I signed up with Koodo, I was shown a coverage map which seem to indicate that I would have service at my house. I was also told that Koodo was associated with Telus. So, why is it that my daughter, who is with Telus, gets service at my house, and I, with Koodo, does not get service?

Just checked the Telus coverage map. We have 4GB HSPA (fast) - up to 21 Hbps, just what Koodo offers too if the Koodo map is correct. I don't get it. BTW My daughter and I have identical cell phones.

Well, thanks for your replies John and Marcus. I did get service later on in the day. Not sure if the weather conditions have something to do with it or not... I guess we do live on the edge :)
To answer your question John, we both have Blackberry Curve cell phones.

Hi Suzanne,

There are many factors that can affect signal strength, the most common being:

-Buildings and other structures: Buildings are difficult to penetrate with radio waves and can act as a barrier to wireless signals. Other materials used in construction may cause wireless signals to be reflected.

-Geographic and natural obstacles: Hills, mountains, trees and other natural obstacles like weather conditions can disrupt the wireless signal.

-Interference from other radio signals: Other wireless networks and wireless transmissions, such as television and radio signals, may occasionally interfere with the mobile phone network.

This should be a temporary issue, however, if the problem persists please call 1-866-995-6636 (option #6) from a phone a landline so that we may troubleshoot and a Representative would be more than happy to assist you further.

It's harder to get service indoors due to walls and other structures. Do you get service in the same area but outdoors? Again, if problem resumes, I'm sure Customer Care will be happy to help you and to assist you further.
