I sent my Samsung gallaxy s3 away to get potentially fixed. The charging port was not working. I called koodo and they sent me a loner phone and I se nt mine away, the lady on the phone told me it would cost 25 dollars and I would see that on my next bill. When I received my next bill I saw a charge that said previously out of warrenty --$100.00!!what does this mean? Koodo has not contacted me since they sent out a loner phone.I would think before they charge me 75 more dollars then I was told they should of contacted me.

Was your phone more than a year old? That may be why. Since it's an out of warranty repair they charge you or I believe you can actually refuse any servicing and just have it shipped back unfixed. I think its best to go back to that kiosk or call them to see what the issue is. I don't think its fair for them to charge you without telling you first.

A broken charging port is classified as physical damage, so the phone is considered out of warranty at that point. Normally, you are contacted with an estimate for additional costs for the repair, as stated in Koodo's warranty and repair policy for out-of-warranty phones.

I'm pretty sure they also charged you a deposit for the loaner phone because loaner phones aren't free if you want one. You have to 'pay' a deposit and then you are given this back when you return the phone in pretty much the same condition (minus regular wear and tear). But as this is a public community, your account cannot be accessed here so you need to call Koodo at *611 from your Koodo phone and speak to a rep to find out specifically what the charge is for. Good luck :)
