Hello,

We have a soccer team with 20 parents who need regular updates via text messages. I created a group but it would only allow me to add 10 people in a conversation. I had to create 2 groups of 10 each and have to copy messages from one group to another.

Is there a way I can add all 20 in a single group?

Currently using Google Pixel 2

I read its a carrier issue. Is that right? I have been with Koodo more than 10 years. Dont want to switch just because of this missing feature but would be nice to have or maybe I am not doing it right

Someone please advise

thankis

Hello Nishant,

I can easily send text messages to 50 people no problem, with my iPhone. Not sure why you can't...

Can someone from Koodo confirm?

If the phone will only let you enter 10 numbers, that's a phone thing, not a carrier thing...

hi Nishant,

Which app are you using for texting?

I think it is possible with the Google messages app. I could select more than 11 contacts and added to a group. You might want to try other message apps and see if they allow you.

Oh how nice is google... lol. I normally use google message and the native app of the phone. You could try some text app like Chomp, textra SMS..

Are you sending as SMS or MMS?  Can you change it from one to the other and give it a try?

@Nishant I know that texting is the "lowest common demoninator" which makes it appealing.  If you could talk the group into using WhatsApp group chats (or another similar data-based messaging app's group features), I think you would be further ahead.  The experience is much better, but everyone has to be willing to use the chosen app.  A lot of people are on WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, which make them both good choices to suggest.  The benefit of WhatsApp is you don't have to be connected to everyone via Facebook in order to exchange messages, you just need to know their phone number (which you already do for texting) and have them install WhatsApp (if they haven't already).  The biggest pushback you will get will be from iPhone users whom are reluctant to use anything but iMessage for messaging, but it's worth a try.
