Hello Tony,

Koodo has discontinued the service since a long time. That website is not Koodo's official website so we don't know what the new site will be

koodomobile.com is as official as it can get.

If I understand it correctly, it won't be and the other messaging services is using any other means from that date onwards.

Hello Tony,

You can always send texts via e-mail, but she need to have data on her phone

Thanks for your reply.
BUT. WHy, why ??
I think its BS for sister to have to turn on, her data to receive a simple text message.
Why the heck, did they stop the previous service.
There thousands of people who do NOT have a cell !!!!
But want to send a text message to someone.

You can always call her instead.

Problem is, Tony, there are insufficient folks using the service to justify its cost; thus it gets dropped.

Skype allows the sending of text messages, I believe.

I am pretty sure those Koodo and TELUS pages simply send an email to number@msg.telus.com. You can accomplish that by going to https://www.guerrillamail.com/compose and sending an email to number@msg.telus.com, or just use your own email service. That is as simple as it can be unless you can write or get someone to write you a basic PHP send mail form.

However, it is likely that the service is being fully deprecated as of May 19.

It is not clear whether they are going to simply get rid of those pages, or completely disable the SMS gateways.

Is there any particular reason that you are relying on this service to message your sister? If you could explain the situation a bit, it would help us to provide adequate alternatives. I'm assuming there's some reason you cannot just text back and forth?

I'm guessing his sister only has a landline and he wants to stay in touch w/o using his minutes.

Does not work in that direction. Email to SMS is a one way ticket - you can't reply to the sender.

Hi Tony,

What Robert says above works best.  Just to give you more details here...

You just need to send an email to your sister's 10digitphonenumber@msg.koodomobile.com.  She will receive that text message as an MMS (like picture messaging).  She can reply to that text message as an MMS (like a picture message) and it will be sent to your email address for you to read

*IF* she has data on!

10digitnumber@msg.telus.com will send the message as an SMS rather than an MMS.

But the reply option described by Dennis won't work using SMS!
